The Deputy Foreign Minister Ashot Hovakimyan and First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan made a working visit to Brussels on June 24-25, 2013.

On June 24 NATO Deputies Committee+Armenia was held in NATO HQ. Armenia-NATO IPAP assessment report for 2012-2013 discussed during that meeting. Deputy Foreign Minister A.Hovakimyan in his speech mentioned Armenia-NATO political dialogue, preparation works for the next Armenia-NATO /2014-2015/ IPAP, presented developments over the negotiation process of NK conflict. D.Tonoyan presented reforms in the Armed Forces of Armenia, military education programmes conducted by the Ministry of Defence in assistance with the NATO. Mr. Tonoyan emphasized the importance of new programmes' implementations with support of NATO, including NATO trust fund project realization in Armenia. The First Deputy Minister of Defence touched upon the issues of the participation of Armenian peace-keepers to the NATO-led operations.

A large number of Allies representatives expressed their support to Armenia-NATO cooperation, supported OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs efforts to resolve NK conflict.

In the framework of working visit, Deputy Foreign Minister A.Hovakimyan and First Deputy Minister of Defence D.Tonoyan met with the Secretary General's Special representative in Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai on June 25. During the meeting there were discussed issues of further development of Armenia-NATO political dialogue, process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict solution, other regional issues.
